DRY NEEDLING

Darch Chiropractic & Health, Darch Plaza Chiropractor, Perth Chiropractor, Perth Dry Needling, Darch Health Professionals, Dr Melissa Vernon, Chiropractor Darch, Chiropractor Perth

Our highly trained Chiropractors can offer dry needling for those stubborn and painful trigger points and muscles.

It is a great accompaniment to our chiropractic adjustments.

The term ‘dry’ needling is used because there is no liquid injected through the needle.

Dry needling uses very thin needles that are inserted into specific areas within the muscle to stimulate and relieve tight areas within that muscle. These tight areas are called trigger points which can be caused through overuse or repetitive activities. Trigger points are a very common cause for muscular tension and pain and responds well to dry needling.

HOW CAN DRY NEEDLING HELP YOU?

Reduced Pain and Stiffness

Improved muscular range of motion and flexibility

Postural Correction

  • Dry Needling is similar to Acupuncture, as they both insert thin needles into specific points within the body’s muscles. However Acupuncture’s method and theory is based on Chinese medicine principles, whereas Dry Needling is not. Acupuncture has the goal of restoring balance within the body through the movement of chi along the correct meridians.

    YOUR FIRST VISIT

Your first visit will take approximately 30 minutes. We ask that you please arrive 10 minutes before your schedule appointment to complete your new patient paperwork.

You will then have a consultation with your chiropractor which includes discussing your presenting complaint(s) and reviewing your medical history.

Your chiropractor may decide to refer you for x-rays or other type of imaging to assist in diagnosis. This will be discussed at your appointment.

  • WHAT IS CHIROPRACTIC?

Chiropractic care focuses on providing natural, drug free treatment of musculoskeletal and nervous system conditions. Chiropractors use their hands to examine, diagnose and treat problems within the joints, ligaments, bones, and muscles. Chiropractors treat these conditions primarily through spinal adjustment and soft tissue treatment and will accommodate each treatment to the individualised needs of their patients.

    WHAT IS AN ADJUSTMENT

Chiropractors assess the structure and function of the spine and nervous system. Our Chiropractors use low force, high amplitude techniques called adjustments to treat joint restrictions that are causing pain or dysfunction. These adjustments help the body heal and move at its best!

    DO I NEED X - RAYS?

No, x-rays and other imaging referrals are required on an individual as needed basis. During your initial consultation our Chiropractors will assess if x-rays are needed based on your history and physical examination to assist with diagnosis and ensure you are given appropriate treatment to meet your needs. You may also be referred for other type of imaging, including CT, MRI or ultrasound and this will be discussed with your by your Chiropractor.
